Poreč is ready to host the first event of the Swatch Major Series from June 2–7! The beautiful Croatian city by the sea welcomes the best teams in Beach Volleyball next week for action that’s part of the Olympic qualifying process. Here are some fun facts and figures about the tournament!
32 international men’s teams
32 international women’s teams
600 total staff members (event personnel, construction, security, hostesses and catering)
150 staff members working in the sports organization (employees and volunteers)
2600 tons of quartz sand on 6 playing and 2 training courts
596 tons of quartz sand on the Center Court
600 tons of steel for the grandstands and the VIP area
2000 m² tent area
500 m² terraces with sea view (VIP and players)
4000 seats for the grandstands

And it’s just the beginning. After a week of exciting Beach Volleyball in Istria, the action next heads to Stavanger, Norway for the second of four Swatch Major Series tournaments this year.
