Can you believe we’ve already had 48 fabulous fixtures for the boys at the Poreč Major?

Well you better believe it and, at the half-way stage of the men’s competition, we’ve delved deep into our incredible wealth of statistics to give you a run-down of who’s done what so far. You never know, one of these amazing facts could impress somebody. Or send them to sleep…

So did you know…

  • Exactly one-third of matches have gone to three-sets
  • Of the 112 sets there have been 13 with overtime
  • There have been 329 blocks and 196 aces
  • And there have been 4,082 rallies

No team has been involved in more rallies on court than popular Austrian duo Doppler/Horst with 313.

Canada’s Ben Saxton has registered the most blocks in the competition with 21 – one more than Barbosa Santos of Brazil. Saxton averages three successful blocks per set.

Saxton and partner Chaim Schalk have score more attack points than any other men’s team with 102 kills.

Brazil’s Evandro leads the way in terms of ace, slamming down a jaw-dropping 14 from his serve – five more than any other player.

Austrians Doppler/Horst have won the most sets with a two-point difference – six times.

Herrera and Gavira of Spain have the highest sideout ratio so far, averaging 82.05 per cent – five per cent more than the next best team.
