No medal this year in Croatia for Laboureur/Sude
Barbara rises highest against Laboureuer/Sude during their last-16 clash on court 5.
There will be no place on the podium for Chantal Laboureur and Julia Sude at the Poreč Major this year.
The German duo, who swept all before them 12 months ago to win their first gold medal together as a team, lost an epic three-set match against Brazilians Barbara Seixas and Fernanda Alves.
Having lost the first set 20-22, they won a dramatic second 26-24 but they could not prevent their South American opponents from taking a place in the quarters, losing the decider 12-15.
The reward for Barbara and Fernanda is an all-Brazilian quarterfinal against Fort Lauderdale winners Larissa/Talita on the Red Bull Beach Arena at 8pm CET.
