If only there was a way we could hand-pick the world’s beach volleyball stars and transport them to one of Europe’s most breathtaking beachside locations and watch them battle for medals…

…oh wait a minute…! That’s exactly what we’re doing.

This time next week the best international beach volleyball players will be preparing themselves for our second Poreč Major and, like them, we’re very, very excited (can you tell?).

Therefore, if you asked us if Alison/Bruno, Ludwig/Walkenhorst, Brouwer/Meeuwsen and Larissa/Talita are going to be in Poreč our answer would be a defiant yes.

And that same answer would come hurtling out of our mouths quicker than you could say ‘Swatch Beach Volleyball FIVB World Tour Finals’ if you asked us if Pavan/Bansley, Lucena/Dalhausser, Doppler/Horst and Meppelink/Van Iersel were also heading for Croatia.

We’ve said it time and time again – these Majors are a Major for a reason: all the top stars will pitch up in Poreč hoping to stand proudly on top of the podium and bid for a big portion of some extraordinary prize money.

The main draw list is out now. Already the names of 48 teams (24 men, 24 women) have been decided for a place in the pool play and will be joined by eight further teams per gender following the qualification, which starts next Tuesday.

In Poreč we’ll have it all: reigning World Champions, reigning European Champions, reigning Poreč Major gold medalists and reigning smart Major Hamburg winners!

Don’t believe us? Look no further than the entry list itself. If your favorite team in town? Click here to find out!

And if that wasn’t enough we’ve got the added spice of the hopes of five Croatian teams aiming to reach the knockout rounds, plus four teams aiming to put the ‘wild’ into wildcard.

Two of those wildcards hail from Austria, with Alexander Huber and Robin Seidl given a ticket straight into the men’s main draw, while Stefanie Schwaiger and Barbara Hansel take their chance in the women’s competition.

We’ll be taking a closer look at what lies in store at next week’s Poreč Major in the lead-up to the start of the tournament so stay tuned.
